One of my favorite Taiwanese dish of all time is the “ro geng” soup, also known as “ba genh” in Taiwanese. It’s made of pork strips coated with fish paste (don’t worry – it tastes better than it sounds), bamboo, mushroom, and carrots – and it’s usually eaten over a bowl of rice or noodles. Tonight was the first time I made this dish from scratch. From the good feedback from family and friends, it was worth all the work!
