Bamboo

One thing that I’ve realized since starting Project 2010 is how things look differently close-up. This is a photo of my bamboo placemat at home. Ordinarily, people wouldn’t have given it a second look because it’s just a normal placemat. However, when looked through the lens of the camera up close, it looks…well..more interesting! (especially after I tweaked the color a bit using picnik =P )

The extreme cold temperature has finally left… for now at least! Today was one of the first days where the temperature reached into the low 40s. Normally I wouldn’t consider 40s to be that warm but after weeks of the brutal cold, it’s a welcoming change. So today, instead of my usual wool scarf, I donned a silk scarf instead (pictured here).   

On a side note, I thought it’s pretty interesting that even though the fringe of a scarf is usually not the main focal point, its presence however, add a certain appeal and style to an otherwise plain scarf.  So things that are seemingly insignificant may actually be more substantial than one thinks!

Day 5

Although it seems bright and sunny outside today, it was actually still miserably cold.  And the bad news is that the weather report says it’s going to continue for another couple of days if not longer!   So as you can guess, I didn’t venture outside today due to the blustery cold and just way too many meetings.  But I figure I can show you all the toys that I got at work.  The Gap Bear in the back and the PioPio were gifts from college friends…and Tigger and the little bear, no clue where they came from! =P

Day 2.  Can you guess what this is?  It’s part of the fire hydrant in front of my house!   As I was unsure of what type of photo to take today, my husband gently reminded me to look at things from different perspectives.  And I have to say, he is right!  Little things that don’t usually catch one’s attention can actually be quite intruiguing when assessed from a different angle!
